THE COLUMBIA, S.C. On Thursday, the first day of testimony in Alex Murdaugh's double murder case gets
underway as the prosecution presents its case that he killed his wife and son at their family estate.
Murdaugh is accused of murdering his wife, Maggie Murdaugh, and their adult son,
Paul Murdaugh, in June 2021 at their Moselle home on the boundary between Hampton and Colleton Counties.
After three days the jury was finally seated in the case Wednesday.
The 12 member panel consists of eight women and four men, with six alternates as standbys.
Both sides presented openings statements before the end of Wednesday,
