App State accomplished the miracle. Play Hail Mary to defeat Troy. Following its victory over Texas A&M the previous week and its hosting of ESPN's Collegiate GameDay.

And it appeared that Troy would shock the crowd by winning in Boone. Up until the Mountaineers pulled off a miracle in the last seconds.

The Mountaineers unexpectedly defeated Troy 32-28 thanks to a tipped 53-yard pass from App State quarterback Chase Brice to Christian Horn on the game's last play.

As far as he could, Brice launched the pass while stepping up in the pocket and moving to the left.

The home fans erupted as Horn hauled it down on a tip at the 6-yard line and raced to the right pylon away from the tacklers.

After the game-winning play, the crowd flooded the field to end a fantastic day of football for the home team and what should be an even better night.

Some late game mismanagement by Troy helped set up the score. It took an intentional safety on 4th and 1 from its 11-yard line to make the game 28-26 with just 25 seconds left.

Jon Sumrall, the head coach of Troy, then instructed a squib kick, which was returned 13 yards to the App State 47-yard line.
